Episode 22- Betrayal

Midge walked to her apartment. She saw Sara's lights were on and considered saying hello then thought the better of it. Sara was that high strung that Midge thought she would end up getting sprayed with mace.
She let herself in and found a note that had been slipped under her door. She opened it and in red block letters she was informed that she would "die for what she had done today".
She guessed that Chloe was being a smartarse and then dismissed the notion. She thought Chloe would be lucky to be able to spell her own name let alone go to the hassle of writing her a threatening note. She screwed it up and tossed it in the trash. As a cop, she was used to hollow threats.
She made herself a snack and found her mind wandering to the issue of Sara. Jez had been right on the button...as usual...she was jealous. Midge had fancied Sara the first time she had met her, even if she had been horrified at the sight of Midge dressed as a man.
Midge was naturally attracted to femme women and Sara's doe eyes had captured her heart from the first time they looked at her. Sara's innocent and shy demeaner made Midge's heart do somersaults and back flips. She felt a protective urge towards her..and another urge that she played out in her mind ever since they had met.
When she saw Chloe arrive at the soccer ground with Sara, Midge's heart broke. She felt that she couldn't compete with her. Midge's opinion of herself was that she was a short, unnactractive dyke and that she would be forever single.
Her last grrlfriend, Laura, had left her for Chloe. As it turned out, the fling was short lived and Laura had come back to her, begging foregiveness. With the help of Jez, Midge refused to take Laura back, knowing full well she would never be able to trust her again.
She had spent many nights in Jez's apartment, usually going through a box of tissues, and Jez would sit patiently with her until the tears dried up. At the time, Midge thought that she would never run out of tears for Laura. Now, although she still loved her, Midge had replaced her pining for Laura with a healthy dose of hate and vindictiveness.
Her spies informed her that Laura had been in several brief relationships, much to Midge's glee. The key word being brief. She wanted Laura to experience as much rejection and devistation as she had when she had come home from work to find Laura and her posessions gone.
She showered and got her uniform ready for her usual morning mad rush when she left it until the last minute to crawl out of bed. She set her alarm and within minutes was deep asleep...that was until she felt a hand creeping up her naked thigh.
