Episode 3 - Wide eyed

Sara stared at Midge wide eyed.
'What do you want?' Midge walked towards her and Sara realised she was trapped.
'I want to talk to you about Chloe.'
Midge grunted and pushed past Sara. She nudged her out of the way,'Do you mind?' Sara realised that this 'woman' was going to take a leak ...at least she hoped it would be a leak...in front of her. She started to back away to the door.
'Oi! Hold it!' she warned, finished her business, pulled up her Y-fronts, that Sara noticed to her horror, contained a rolled up sock. She arranged her bulge and buttoned her trousers, all the while Sara staring at her in disbelief. Midge noticed this and grinned, 'I take it you're not acquainted with my type?'
All Sara could do was shake her head, not knowing what she meant by 'her type' and pretty sure she didn't really want to know.
'I'm going to the amateur drag king night at the pub tonight.' she explained. Sara looked confused. Midge continued, 'Well, you would have heard of drag queens, drag kings are women that dress up as men and perform.'
'Ahhhhh!' Sara exclaimed, relieved. It was dress ups. She smiled, 'Cool, who are you supposed to be?' Midge frowned, pulled a comb from her pocket and slicked back her hair. She wiggled her hips.
'Guess now.'
'Hmmm...John Travolta?' Sara ventured. Midge threw her hands in the air.
'No, Ricky Martin.' she said, exasperated. She lifted herself up onto the bathroom bench,'Anyways, seeing as you're new here I thought I'd better fill you in on a few things. Mainly Chloe.'
Sara raised an eyebrow. She didn't know whether to trust this man/grrl but she thought she may as well humour her seeing as though she was still a bit terrified of her. A woman who had no qualms about peeing in front of her probably didn't have an issue with knocking her teeth out either.
'Do tell.' she ventured.
'She's a player.' Midge stated simply. Sara looked confused again. Midge pulled a face, 'Gawd you're green. She likes getting a few notches on her belt, you know, playing the field then leaving a wasted crop of broken hearted women behind her.'
'Women?' Sara repeated. The realisation suddenly dawned on Midge.
'Your're kidding aren't you?'
'I don't have any idea what you are talking about.' Sara said incredulously.
'You're not a dyke?' The two women stared at each other silently. Sara looked horrified. 'Or just not a practising one?' Midge grinned knowingly.
'I don't think that's any of your business,' she blurted and started to leave again. Midge halted her by placing her hand on Sara's as it tried to turn the door handle. Her face softened and she changed her mocking expression to that of sincerity,
'It's ok, grrl. We've all been there. I only came out last year.' Sara shook off her hand and flung open the door,
'I'M NOT A FUCKING DYKE YOU FREAK!!!" she screamed over the booming stereo, well she would have been if it hadn't suddenly stopped as someone changed a cd. Every head in the crowded room turned to see her standing in the bathroom doorway. Crickets chirped in the background.
Mortified, she ran to her room and slammed the door behind her, blocking out the accusing stares of the crazy carnival in her living room. She sobbed despairingly into her hands.
Chloe pushed through the people who had started to gossip and whisper. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed a few of the boi's were picking up their bubbly and making a hasty retreat. Those that thrived on controversy were milling around the bedroom door, Paulie included. He was calling to Sara through the door and without much success.
Midge stood in Chloe's way,
'Leave her. Can't you just keep your fangs out of one grrl for a change?' Chloe snarled at her and pushed her into the wall. She towered over Midge, pinning her with one muscled arm.
'What the fuck did you say to her?' Midge wasn't intimidated.
'Just giving her some friendly advice. Now get your gorilla paws off me or I'll kick you in your steroid fun bags. Which reminds me, you get that nasty chest hair seen to?' The two faced off for a moment until Paulie came and separated them.
'C'mon sisters...don't go butching out on me. Let's get this little grrl back into the swing of things.' The two foes glared at each other but Midge allowed herself to be led off by Paulie. Chloe went to the bedroom door and began calling to Sara. Paulie took Midge aside,
'What did you say to her, grrlfriend?' he whispered excitedly. Midge shrugged,
'I was giving her the run down on Hulk Hogan there and she said she had no idea about what I was talking about. Gawd, Paulie, she's so far back in the closet she's got silver fish. You heard the gist of it.'
'Sure did' Paulie said, cocking an eyebrow and rubbing his chin, 'Methinks the lady protests too much.'
