Episode 45 - Reality Bytes
Helen and Lee had moved from the living room floor to the bedroom, giggling like school grrls. Their mouths hungered for each other as they staggered into the bedroom, not wanting to break their intimate embrace.
After another hour off tossing and turning on the bedroom floor they eventually made it to the bed and spent another couple of hours exploring each others bodies.
Just as Lee began to plead that she couldn't cope with another orgasm her body would be racked with a quivering explosion that made her want to laugh and cry at the same time. Lee’s self imposed celibacy for the last few years had finally come to an end and she couldn't imagine why she had denied herself so much beautiful pleasure for so long.
She was aware that Helen was the first grrl in a long time that had rocked her world both physically and emotionally. She had deliberately alienated herself from women since a nasty break up she’d had a few years earlier.
The first time Lee had let herself love and be loved, her heart had been broken in two. She had offered herself to her ex and was treated like a play thing by the goddess that she worshipped. She swore she would never let that kind of pain touch her heart again. Her protective shield also blocked any kind of goodness that tried to reach her soul. Lee had lived in limbo since her break up; neither experiencing pleasure nor pain and the impenetrable wall that she had built had left her starved of any human contact.
She drank of it now like a thirsty woman who had spent an eternity wandering a vast, dry desert.
Lee snuggled into Helen’s breasts.
They sighed simultaneously...exhausted and content in each other’s arms.
‘What are you thinking?’ Lee mumbled, her voice muffled by ample bosom.
‘About Jules,’ Helen replied, a tinge of sadness in her voice. Lee was thinking of daffodils and butterflies and was abruptly snapped back into reality. Her eyes shot open and she felt her heart skip a beat.
‘Oh,’ she grunted and pushed herself away from Helen. She sat up and lit a cigarette.
‘What do you think we should do?’ Helen asked, her eyes pleading at Lee for an answer.
Lee shrugged,
‘As you said earlier, she doesn't need to know,’ Her voice was cold and she felt herself retreating into the familiar world of apathetic indifference. She felt like she had taken a dose of morphine to numb all feeling. Helen tried to touch her and Lee pulled away sharply. ‘You said yourself it was just a quicky. I’ll see you in the morning.’
Helen looked at Lee. A slow tear cascaded down her cheek. Lee turned away from the painful stare. She wanted to reach out and hold Helen...to whisper that they would work it all out and that they would be fine. Instead she stubbed out her smoke viciously in the ashtray.
‘I put some fresh sheets on Jules’ bed. I think you know where everything is by now.’
Helen climbed out of Lee’s bed and stood naked before her.
‘Are you sure?’ she whispered.
Lee stared at her with unfeeling eyes,
‘Yes.’
Helen retreated into Jules’ bedroom and spent the rest of the night staring at the ceiling and crying...as did Lee.
