Warrnambool is situated at the end of the Great Ocean Road in south west Victoria. We love our seaside town. We love its beaches, cafes, restaurants, cute little sandstone buildings, roundabouts, friendly people and even the ever present wind! It's estimated that around 10% of any population is probably gay, lesbian or bisexual. So with a population of just over 30,000 there's bound to be at least 3,000 GLBT's roaming the streets and beaches!The aim of this site is to help the 3,000 people (more in the tourist season) find the fun stuff organised by Club Sandwich and other wonderful groups and individuals in this fabulous regional city. |

What is GLBT Club Sandwich?GLBT Club Sandwich is a "club" for gay, lesbian and bisexual people in the Warrnambool area. Club Sandwich is organised by a dedicated team of mainly lesbian and gay Warrnamboolians who aim to have lots of fun and to help other GLBTs have some fun too. Club Sandwich is not yet an incorporated association but it is connected via the organising team to South West TAFE Student Association and Deakin University Warrnambool Student Association. The organising team also has contact with relevant community organisations. You can join Club Sandwich for free by emailing your details to us via the "Contact Us " page. On Line Buddy SystemIf you have just recently "come out" or are new to Warrnambool then you probably don't want to just turn up to an event where you don't know anyone. If you feel a little nervous about meeting up with other local GLBTs then we offer an email buddy system that you may like to try. Just send us an email telling us a bit about yourself and we can find you an online buddy to write to until you feel comfortable to come along to the many fun activites Club Sandwich will be sending your way. Buddies are trusted friendly volunteers from the local GLBT community. Please be aware that the buddy system is not an online dating service. If you want an online dating service, check out our "Links" page! Our buddies are not trained counsellors either; to find counselling referral services look in our "Contacts" page. |
